Setting and Lighting can impact your best makeup options for your photoshoot.  Last week we talked about the important of matching YOUR STYLE, so YOU shine thru the camera lens. This week, I'll help you determine the best options based on lighting and setting.

The SETTING (indoors or outdoors) will help you focus on the best options for your makeup because the LIGHTING will be different in these settings.
For Indoor, professionally light head shots or branding:
  • Avoid any foundations with Titanium Oxide or Zinc Oxide.  They REFLECT the lights used for the photo shoot and can create changes in your natural color.
  • Natural gals - be sure to apply simple products for a flawless look - Foundation, mascara, brows, cheek color and color on your lips create just a bit of pop thru the camera lens!
  • You may want to intensify makeup just a bit for the more vibrant lighting for an inside, professionally light headshot or style shoot. Take a few pics and see how your look appears thru the camera lens.  Adjust as needed for the look YOU want to create and that best reflects you!

For naturally lit or outdoor branding shoots, headshots or weddings:
  • A lighter more natural finish or your every day look is great for these settings.
  • A BB Creme or CC Creme is great NATURAL option for a flawless finish even with sunscreen, because the natural light gives a different finish than the indoor, professional lights.  I've had several photographers mention how great Mary Kay CC Creme looks on the final pics, less editing and a more flawless finish.
  • Consider the time of day to match your look, opting to add a bit more depth to your colors for later afternoon or evening photo shoots.

Next time we'll talk about application tips!
